How free and discounted entry works
The MFA has no fixed free weekday, but offers several options: on the third Thursday of each month, pay-what-you-wish tickets ($5 minimum) from 5pm, sold in person; free Open Houses for Massachusetts residents; Boston Family Days for Boston students and their families on the first and second Sundays of each month; and free tickets for students, faculty and staff of participating colleges and for U.S. military and veterans.
